Have you been given false promises? The economy or slow business putting locks on promotions or salary increases? If you’re clear that your manager does not have the ability to promote you yet, or does not believe you are ready for it, you have choices. Create a plan, and have them review it. Ask for honesty in the odds of an increase. Ask for creative alternatives such as, “is there an opportunity to receive a spot bonus for what I just worked so hard to deliver?"
